About Us

Our approach to software development sets us apart from most other technology companies. We don’t just build isolated systems for individual issues. Instead, we take a look at every aspect of what our clients need, examining existing systems and learning as much as we can about their current - and even future - problems. Then we build a solution that works seamlessly within its environment and provides a great user experience.

We deliver world class solutions from a small city at the centre of North America - and we always want to do better work. We give our employees the resources they need to master their craft, and opportunities to really put that knowledge and experience to work. We want our employees to understand how their work fits into a larger picture - and these things together provide tremendous advantages to both our employees and our clients.

We are an Aboriginal / Metis company, and that identity is important to us. Giving back to our community is important to us, and over the years we’ve contributed to - and helped to build and grow - many programs and opportunities for Aboriginal youth in Manitoba who are interested in pursuing careers in IT.

We’re not just software developers. We understand how our work and our expertise can fit into the larger picture of how - and why - our clients run their businesses. And our solutions reflect that deep understanding by delivering well-rounded and totally customized systems that are as flexible and intuitive as our clients need them to be.

History

ID Fusion was founded by Christian Dandeneau, Robert Piche, and Daniel Piche in 1999. These three began ID Fusion with a vision of a company that would provide employees with the environment and resources to fully engage their creative talents and bring their best ideas to life.

Since 2003, we’ve been able to use our status as an Aboriginal business (registered in both the Aboriginal and Metis business directories) to offer local IT consulting services to national systems integrators serving large Manitoba customers. This exposure has also brought more direct client business and creative opportunities our way.

ID Fusion is known for our ability to deliver imaginative technical solutions to our clients, our ability to work side-by-side in partnerships collaborating on large systems, and by our strong reputation in the local industry.

Our consistent growth continues today, and we are always working to better our business by doing the same for our clients.

In the Community

Empowering the Aboriginal community in Manitoba is very important to us. We want to encourage more Aboriginal youth to consider Information Technology as an exciting and attainable career path.

University of Winnipeg - Aboriginal Information & Communication Technologies Diploma Program

Christian Dandeneau - one of ID Fusion’s founders and our current CEO - was part of the steering committee that developed the Aboriginal Information & Communications Technologies Diploma Program at the University of Winnipeg, a unique program that was designed to address the technology gap in Manitoba’s workforce. Currently, only 1.2% of those who work in Manitoba’s IT industry are Metis, First Nation, and Inuit - and this program is designed to help fill that gap. Graduates from the program have gone on to careers as web programmers, network support technicians, and help desk support professionals.

Information & Communication Technologies Association of Manitoba (ICTAM) - Aboriginal Steering Committee

Since 2005, Christian Dandeneau has served on ICTAM’s Aboriginal Steering Committee, working to increase the number of Aboriginal people in the IT industry through awareness, exposure, and access to education.

Tech Trek

Tech Trek is a technology-focused camp program for Aboriginal youth offered through ICTAM that happens in Winnipeg, Manitoba every summer. Our CEO, Christian Dandeneau, was on the steering committee that created Tech Trek and continues to be involved with the program today.

Tech Trek works with schools to connect with Aboriginal kids early in their education and give them an opportunity they may not have otherwise been exposed to. In the program, students conceptualize a product or business with a tech focus, and spend the duration of the camp developing it. The camp culminates in each student presenting their project. Students are given laptops to work on - and at the end of the program they get to keep them. Tech Trek has been sponsored by companies like HP and Dell.

Manito Ahbee

Manito Ahbee is an annual festival that celebrates Aboriginal culture and showcases the talents, gifts, and abilities of Aboriginal artists from all nations. Our director of business development, David Dandeneau, has been volunteering on the Board of Governors of Manito Ahbee since 2004. ID Fusion’s Robert Piche also volunteers on the organization’s technology committee.
